Give your AI assistant a real image-to-SVG tool
Image models only make pixels, and an assistant that writes SVG by hand only approximates your artwork. Connect SVG Me and it traces the image itself: clean shapes, a few flat colors, and a file ready to download.

PNG, JPEG, GIF, BMP, TIFF, or WebPConvert and preview free. Pay 1 credit only when you download.
Why SVG Me
Traced, not redrawn
The same engine as this site traces the actual image, so the SVG looks like the art you made, not a rough sketch of it.
Works where you work
Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, Claude Code and any other app that supports MCP. Sign in once and approve the connection.
Keeps chats short
Your assistant gets a download link, the colors and a small preview, not 50 KB of path data in its context.
Downloading unlocks the project for 1 credit. After that, every version recolors and downloads again free. Sign in with Google or email to buy credits and keep your SVGs.
How to do it
- Add SVG Me to your assistant as a connector, with the address https://svgme.app/mcp.
- Sign in to SVG Me when asked, and allow the connection.
- Ask it to turn an image into an SVG, for example the logo it just generated.
- Download the file from the link it gives you, or ask for another format such as layers, PDF or DXF.
Connect Claude (web, desktop and mobile)
- Open Settings, then Connectors, and choose Add custom connector.
- Name it SVG Me and enter the address https://svgme.app/mcp.
- Choose Connect, sign in to SVG Me and allow the connection.
- In a chat, ask Claude to convert an image to SVG. It uses the SVG Me tools when the request calls for them.
Connect Claude Code
claude mcp add --transport http svgme https://svgme.app/mcpClaude Code can also use the SVG Me agent skill, which converts files on your computer with the API. Install the skill if you’d rather use an API key from your account page than sign in:
/plugin marketplace add vchiapaikeo/svgme-tools
/plugin install svgme@svgmeConnect Cursor and other MCP apps
Add SVG Me as a remote (Streamable HTTP) server. Apps that support MCP sign-in open SVG Me to connect:
{
"mcpServers": {
"svgme": { "url": "https://svgme.app/mcp" }
}
}Connect ChatGPT
Add SVG Me as a custom connector or app with the address https://svgme.app/mcp, sign in to SVG Me and allow the connection. Custom connectors need ChatGPT’s developer mode on some plans.
What your assistant can do
- convert_image: traces an image from a link, or from a file the assistant uploads, into an SVG, PDF, EPS or DXF. Options include the number of colors, background removal, layers by color, cut outlines and stickers.
- export_svg: re-exports an earlier result in another format or with other colors, for free.
- create_upload: gives coding agents a one-time link to upload a file from your computer.
- get_balance: checks how many credits are left.
Developers can also call the same conversions from their own code with the SVG Me API.
Questions
Why not just ask the AI to write the SVG?
A language model writing SVG by hand has to guess every curve, so logos and illustrations come out simplified or wrong. Tracing works from the pixels, so the shapes match the image. See how tracing compares.
How much does it cost?
Each converted image uses 1 credit from your SVG Me account, the same as downloading in the app. Re-exporting a result in another format is free. New accounts get a free conversion, and you can buy more credits on your account page.
Can it convert an image my assistant just generated?
When the image has a public link, the assistant passes the link. Coding agents such as Claude Code and Cursor can also upload a file from your computer. If your chat app can’t hand the image over, download it and upload it here instead.
What can my assistant do with my account?
Only convert images, re-export its results and check your credit balance. It can’t buy credits or change settings. Disconnect it any time under API keys on your account page.
Does it keep my images?
Images are deleted once converted. Results are saved to My SVGs, like conversions in the app. See the Privacy Policy.
